Induction Video and DVD Production

Induction DVD’s or “Orientation Videos” are specialised films that fall broadly under the realm of training. The main difference with Induction Videos is that they are aimed specifically at new staff members who have just started at a company. The purpose of an induction video is to help new employees understand company policies and procedures, basic security information and company background and culture.

Generally an induction video is aimed specifically at new employees, contractors or consultants who will be spending extensive period of time at the company. Very often an induction video may be re-viewed by older staff, particularly in the case of a new video that contains new or revised policies, products and procedures.

An induction video is a good method for any company to stipulate or (in the invent that they already exist) revise their company mission statement, employee rules and specific procedural requirements. The benefits of developing an induction DVD is that it is a repeatable medium and will fill in any information that may go accidentally missed when new staff are simply “shown the ropes” by fellow staff members. This is extremely important from a legal or liability perspective.

There are many advantages to supplying new staff members with an induction DVD presentation:

· Information can be communicated uniformly (and not second-hand through other staff members)
· All the necessary information can be given in one sitting (without the risk of important points being left
  out.)
