A large proportion of YouTube footage is not viewed directly on the YouTube website but from embedded links in blogs, social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and e-mailed links. Your video content promotion strategy must include ways to get your video deliberately linked. The best way to do this is to create something short, thought provoking, valuable or funny and insightful. The sorts of links that people traditionally mail to each other tend to be under 3 minutes and snappy with simple concepts.

Your company website address should be very clearly and very firmly visible in your video.   • Blog: An essential tool that allows you to couple your other content with video and an essential channel for promoting your video content.
  • LinkedIn: With LinkedIn's recent changes to the way users can interact with content has made it a powerful content promotion platform, especially suited for B2B.
  • Google+: Powerful platform that is growing in popularity in leaps and bounds, a great balance between business and more casual interaction. Google+ also gives search engine ranking preference to content shared on this platform.
  • StumbleUpon: A great platform for not only finding related content but promoting it by stumbling your video content. Before you know it your content is popping up in everyone's stumbles.

 

It Starts With the Footage Itself, Tell Stories

The most effective way to create a memorable and repeatable video clip is to base it on a story. People relate well to stories. If a story is not possible, select one particular theme, product or subject… Apply the 4 “S’s”, Short, Simple, Succinct and Snappy.

Remember that the more creative, relaxed and genuinely enthusiastic you are when making it, the more that will translate through your video. If you have chosen a video production company to film the clip for you, look out for a few things:
